@Katie i second this as a second time mom but first time breastfeeding mom. it really helps my baby if i sit her up for 10 minutes or so after a feeding and feed her kinda upright instead of laying down flat
definitely try to track your food intake even healthy foods like broccoli or cabbage can make babies gassy! also like others have said feeding upright or rocking upright after feeding can help. If your arms get tired try to hold baby so they’re laying on their left side, that will help because of the positioning of our esophagus, gravity will make it harder for any reflux to come up
@Katie she does get a bit gassy. I’ve tried sitting her up while feeding, burped her in between and after, and waiting 20 minutes just sitting her up right before laying her down. You could be on to something with diet, just not sure what to cut out.
Mine started spitting up a ton more recently, like sometimes I feel like it’s 1/2 oz worth and I’m doing all the things to try and prevent it but it hasnt worked
Going through the same thing, her pediatrician prescribed Pepcid 2 weeks ago & it was great the first week but now we’re back to square one. Now I’m trying probiotics to see if it’ll help. also you might want to get your baby tested for a milk intolerance allergy that could be causing fussiness/discomfort.
I’m on my second kid but first time exclusively breastfeeding so I may not be the best help but the spit up could be acid reflux developing (my first didn’t have it till she was about a month old) so you could try sitting her up more and maybe even breaking up the feeds to burp her before feeding her more. I also heard that it could be due to your diet as well so maybe cutting back on dairy or acidic foods will help too. Does she seem gassy at all? Sometimes my girl gets gassy and struggles to sleep
