We started by taking it away in the day so he got used to not having it because my son did exactly this and then we stopped giving it to him at bedtime and introduced a teddy instead from his favourite show, the first couple nights were a little rough and just let him cry it out but he only kicked off for 20 minutes the first night and then the next night was 5 minutes. He got used to not having it really easily and he was really reliant on it. He still wakes up once in the night every now and then but goes straight back off by himself
My little boy was a little bit older but we went cold turkey at 16 months, it was rough for a few days and then after that he didn’t bother for it again, we hadn’t planned to take it off him but he’d stayed at my mum’s and she ‘couldn’t find it’🤨😂 it worked out in the end though and I’m actually glad now that we got rid of it when we did
Exact same with lo iv now removed dummy at night but he still uses during day x
My now 10 week old did the same at 7 weeks so I ended up co sleeping for a while but she stopped crying for her dummy while co sleeping so when i put her backcin her bed a week ago she doesn't cry when it falls out anymore 😅 Co sleepings not for everyone but it got rid of the problem
