Finally losing my mucus plug

I’m 39+3 today how long after losing your plug did you go into labor I’ve had contractions off and on for a week now. Yesterday I had a semi sweep I was only 1/2 cm dilated so she couldn’t truly do one but I’m very limited on getting this baby out since I’m going for a VBAC and want to avoid another c-section so I can’t get Pitocin. I’m also terrified to have her on the weekend because my dr is not on call this weekend and the OB I saw at the beginning is and she wanted me to have a c-section no ifs ands buts about it then the next weekend is some rando and i DEFINITELY don’t want that so I’m hoping she’s coming tomorrow or next week during the week 🙏🏼I really just want my OB so bad she’s the only one willing to let me have this baby naturally unless something bad happens then of course I want the C-section to save my baby. This pregnancy has by far been my redemption pregnancy and I feel so blessed to be this close to the end but the limitations make me worried about my redemption labor and birth of course the end goal is always a healthy baby but I truly didn’t love the recovery from my C-section.

I lost my mucus plug and 24 hours later I was giving birth. Don’t stress it mama. baby will come when they’re ready

@Bee I wouldn’t if I knew the other OB wasn’t going to jump straight to wanting to do a C-section but since I know she’s on call and wants me to have a c-section it’s definitely stressing me out. As long as I can get through the weekend and possibly Monday too I think my OB is off then I can breathe again 😭

it sounds crazy but worst case maybe try requesting a different doctor when you’re at the hospital if you can. my OB couldn’t even remember my name when i got to the hospital. i ended up using an OB from the hospital instead of the on call one from my gynecologist and honestly it was a much better experience. it can still take days after your mucus plug falls out to start labor. for some mamas it takes weeks, try to remind yourself that. every pregnancy is different. you’ve got this🫶

@Bee true I’m not sure if they have any other OB’s though but I love my OB she delivered my daughter who was born at 30 weeks I think I’m just mostly scared because I trust her most over any of the other ones but I’m guessing nothing is going to happen this weekend anyways because there’s no consistent contractions so I’m hopeful we will make it to next week at least

If there’s no consistent contractions then I’d say you definitely have time, just watch out for fluid. If you’re really worried though you can always get checked for dilation at your OB office

Lost mine two weeks before my scheduled induction. Unless there are other signs it doesn't really mean anything. And I was already at 4 cm dilated.
