How have you found out it’s your breastmilk? Sorry just curious as to what you mean? X
My health visitor gave me some amazing advice. 1-The world can’t be filled with just big babies. 2- as babies start to get more active they can drop centiles Your LO is loved and healthy.
@Ashley my supply has gone down and i didn’t realise and she was on my boob more. i realised once i pumped
@Cassie i hope it gets better for you! my baby is 10 months and i feel so shit for only realising now 😭
I felt the same, mine is 5 months now and actually so skinny it made me feel horrible. I bought a fancy pump tho so I’m so excited for my pumping journey and then breastfeeding again after the tongue tie cut! Have you thought about pumping and using formula simultaneously ?
@Daisy i hope my health visitor is as nice as yours 😭 im so sensitive so im so scared they’re going to be mean about it
@Cassie i tried formula when she was younger, all different brands and she didn’t take it. she hasn’t successfully drank from a bottle yet 😭
I had a big baby girl and she was breastfed. She would drop and gain weight periodically with her growth spurts. I would think my supply was dipping out when a spurt was coming because she would be trying to feed allllll the time. You're going to be worried because she's on the smaller side but it is 100% normal for babys to do what you're describing.
My baby is on the 0.4th centile, he has expressed breastmilk x
I hope so too. At the end of the day. Fed is best and mummy’s mental health is best. My LO is three months old EBF and started to introduce a bottle of expressed milk. She will only take it if it’s warm. This minute it cools down she will spit it out xx
I was always told that a pump is not necessarily indicative of what your baby is getting. Your baby is more effective than a pump. So it may not be due to your breastmilk. Don’t be hard on yourself! My baby was born big and is now relatively small but she’s healthy and gaining weight just slightly slower than others!! You’re doing your best! ❤️
Is baby following the 2nd centile steady since 6 months? If so, then do not worry at all. As long as baby is following a line, they will be okay. Do not move onto formula unless baby is dropping centiles like crazy xx
thank you so much ladies i really needed this 😭😭
Ohhh yes my baby did not like formula but he will take it if it’s mixed with breastmilk! I have to do a 50/50 mix. But I do agree with what everyone is saying- your baby hasn’t dropped many percentiles and if she seems happy and is meeting milestones I’m sure everything is okay and she may not need formula!
This is happening to me too except mine was born on the 60th and now he’s the 2nd… also breastfeeding. We’re combi feeding breast milk and formula now because he has a tongue tie problem not milk problem. I’m hoping when it’s cut he can be exclusively BF again. Just know it’s not your fault ❤️
