Clog?

I am an exclusive pumper. Pretty sure it’s a clog but it’s not the typical lump everyone talks about. Half my breast is rock hard like it’s engorged. Same thing happened last week but that time it hurt like crazy, today it doesn’t hurt but it’s still just as hard and milk isn’t flowing (only coming out from the soft side of the boob I’m assuming). Please help with any tips and tricks that worked for you I’m so desperate!

Ice packs. Ibuprofen. Very gentle lymphatic massage

Agree massage the breast

When I had something like this happen, I had to use heat, massage, and one of those vibrating boob wands.

@Maia I did too when breastfeeding my first, but it's outdated advice. Clogs are inflammation and heat and hard massage and vibrations make it worse

You need to be careful with blockages, it’s how I got mastitis and I was terrified of it ever happening again. Plenty of massages, boiling hot flannels/ face clothes on the breast, I used breast pumps to release the milk and also used the massage setting, hot baths and massages at the same time. Mastitis was much much worse than a c section recovery for me, so I did everything I could to avoid it again!

@Clare that's all outdated advice And I agree mastisis is awful I've had it about 7 or 8 times and blockages about 15 times
