Have you taken a tour of the hospital you plan to birth at? Sometime they provide a sheet stating what all is allowed and what they provide
@Lauren no there no space for tours
Third time mom here. @Lexi list is perfect, the only thing I would add is snacks. So if you get hungry at a weird hour at the hospital you aren't stuck with horrible snacks that they have at nurse's station.
Agree with @Lexi and @Riengh you'll definitely want to bring your own snacks and drinks for you and your husband. We would get starving in between meals and hospitals can be so dry, we probably looked crazy bringing in an entire bag of snacks and drinks 😂
@Lexi for diapers Can I bring like adult diapers
@Mariah yes! I used the discreet adult diapers instead of pads for convenience
@Annika yes!!! We had friends bring us snacks after birth but that’s definitely a must!
@Lexi this is a great list. I definitely overpacked with my first. I would just add a portable fan. I was sweating like crazy and it definitely helped.
And what about peppermint sense or lavender sense? Did anybody bring that in their bag?
@Mariah i totally plan on being some kind of essential oils with me because they definitely help calm me and keep me centered
@Lauren which one peppermint or lavender
@Mariah i personally prefer peppermint because of the fact that is also helps me fight nausea
@mariah I'm a first time mom and a little type A, so not sure if I'm over packing. But I've been told by friends that if you're planning on breastfeeding, to also bring your pump and a breastfeeding pillow to make it easier. Friends have told me that the lactation specialists will help you learn how to use it and all that. Also idk if you have dogs, but we are planning on bringing some socks for our little guy, which we have rubbed on her 😂 so when we bring him home, our dog knows that he is one of the pack 😂 oh and a swaddle blanket that we will give to our parents. That he has been wrapped up in for a night, so she (our dog) can smell him before he is even home.
@Meagan no I have a a black cat, but isn’t every hospital different cause I know the HCA I don’t know what they provide for you when it comes to delivery and labor

Oh yeah I'm sure every hospital is different. Maybe ask at your next appt, is a lactation specialist sent to my room after delivery? My OBGYN told me it's basically standard practice now
I just got back from my hospital tour and they said you really only need a change of clothes and a going home outfit for baby for photos, slippers if you don’t want to wear their socks, maybe a brush, laptop if you want and chargers. My hospital said they provide everything from toothbrushes to blankets, gowns, etc. so I don’t really need to bring much.
