My girl has breakfast about an hour after her bottle, I prefer to do breakfast before brushing our teeth and getting dressed (because it’s messy) so if I waited 2 hours we would then have to rush the other things before her first nap. Having a routine is great because baby knows what to expect next etc but they have no concept of time so I personally don’t think it needs to be a strict schedule. For us it will vary based on how long she naps etc too so everything for us is usually within a 1 hour time frame but always in the same order.
Thank you both, this is super helpful. She is on a routine more than scheduling, so I will calm down about him giving the milk so soon in the morning 😂
I give my little boy milk between 6:30/7 and food an hour after 7:30/8 and this works for us and then he naps 9:30/10, next bottle is around 12/12:30 and then lunch around 1:30 and then dinner around 4:30/5 and then bottle before bed at 6:30ish
It depends on whether you want to have a routine, or a schedule. If you’re looking to have a routine in place, which can be flexible when it needs to be, then you’ll be fine. Don’t sweat the small stuff. We basically just winged everything to a rough routine with our first and he’s a happy, laid back kid who eats like a horse. If you want a schedule, then yeah you need to have everything running on time and at the same time every day. Some parents implement schedules and if it works for them, great. But personally we could never manage that. We need the flexibility. Anecdotally, the parents we know who have a schedule end up being very hard to make plans with as everything has to run like clockwork or their kids can’t cope with it (so they say). I wouldn’t say there’s a right or wrong, it’s just preferences.
