Feeding and Sleep....help🙏

This might be a long one but im looking for advice, guidance or what you'se do. Anything! I'll start by saying my little boy is coming up for 7 months in a weeks time. I give him porridge or a fruit puree in the morning as well as his bottle then the rest of the day is bottles with either some of a puree jar at dinner time with us or ive started to mash up some of our foods at dinner time. He goes down at half 7 and gets up roughly 7am everyday however he is up and down all night, mostly for the dummy so its back in and hes down again. He usually wakes for a bottle at either half 4am or 6am. So 5 bottles within the 24hrs but some of the bottles hes not finishing. Basically what im wondering is, how can i reduce the amount of times hes up and down as im going back to work soon which is 15 hour shifts then up and down all night with him. I mean like 10 times a night🤦‍♀️ also, should i be giving him more food throughout the day? Could he be hungry at nights thats why hes not sleepong soundly🤷‍♀️ anything would be appreciated❤️

I’d try doing sleep training with him to prevent the night wake ups and start weaning him off night time feeds. So same amount for a few days then reduce by one ounce and repeat until nothing left. Also if you’re not already space the time between bottle and his food/purees. I always do 40 minutes -1.5 hr between each. Also look into how much day time sleep he’s getting and how long his wake windows are. If he’s awake too long or little it could be contributing to over or under tiredness which causes night wakes. Look into the environment in your room - is it dark enough, do you have a sound machine playing (recommended white noise), are you putting him down awake but drowsy not asleep, do you have a bedtime routine? & lastly, teach him how to put his pacifier back in and put several in the crib so he has easy access to grab them during the night and put back in himself.

You can message me if you want.. I have a lot of tips for sleep training and daytime schedules, etc

Also for foods try introducing higher protein , higher fats into his diet. It’s key for body and brain development right now as it’s rapidly growing and they’re learning new skills often. the added benefit with the protein & fats is that it’ll help him stay full longer and potentially sleep better.

Thank you so much for all that, very helpful! The room environment is dark and he has ewan the sheep on so thats good. So is porridge in the morning and then a puree or some of our dinner enough at dinner times enough🤷‍♀️ i dunno if i need to be doing more snacky things or more purees throughout the day?🤷‍♀️ perfect i'll look into higher protein/higher fats. Great help! Thank you so much for replying!

We found Ewan wasn’t a good enough white noise- it needs to be about as loud as the couldn’t have a running shower . We purchased white noise machines from Amazon
