Assisted walking

So as of this morning my little boy can now walk whilst holding my hands, he only turned 6 months yesterday and can’t crawl yet so I’m just wondering if i should be encouraging this new skill with walkers ect or if i should try and stop it until he’s mastered crawling x

Not all baby crawl, some go straight to walking x

@Jess yeah i’ve never really understood how that happens tbh surely babies need to be able to crawl to get to things they can use to pull up I’m obviously missing something just no clue what 🤣 x

My little girl is nearly 7 months and she ain’t crawling but she’s trying to go from her knees when supported straight to her feet.. I mean they’re too young to walk regardless so a little stepping with them ain’t bad but I wouldn’t focus on it because of pressure on their joints that aren’t ready - my friends little girl who’s 8 months she’s crawling and pulling herself up! They’ll do it all when they’re ready xx

Try to encourage crawling as it’s a huge milestone in encouraging gross motor skills, improving their cognitive function as well as sensory and motor development! Walking is all well and good but at such a young age try help him onto his knees and guide them into a crawling position x

I heard that walking before crawling, especially this early, could be a sign of muscle tension. However some just do things early! It’s worth checking in my opinion x

My son went straight to walking, never crawled/shuffled. It was hard until he could stand up himself because he’d really on us to stand him up as he couldn’t get to furniture to pull him up

@Emma yeah he was seeing an oseopath when he was younger but he is just strong he was sitting at 3.5 months x
