Advice

Okay, so I have stopped breastfeeding my almost 2 year old this week, I stopped because I am pregnant (7 weeks), any advice on what to do when you stop? My boobs are massive, engorged and so so sore. She’s my first baby so I don’t know if there’s anything I have to do after I stop breastfeeding. Any advice welcome, I needed a break between the two and although I’ve read that is not bad for baby it was draining me Thank you xxxxx

I've recently stopped feeding my 14 month old, and I reduced to once a day feeding at first, then I stopped but after a week I was really sore so gave him 1 feed off 1 boob one day and the other boob the next day. That was over a week ago now and I don't feel anywhere near sore again yet. So might be that u either have to do a 1 off feed or express to take the edge off until it settles xxx

Stopping suddenly with no relief can put u at risk for mastitis xxx

I was reducing feeds at first, stopped during the day, and then gradually changed to just for her to sleep and now that I stopped the ones to get her to sleep. I worry that if I do 1 off, she won’t be happy and will get back to breastfeeding as she absolutely loves it

Then express or hand express to take the edge off, untill you don't need to any more xxx

Thankfully my son has always been pretty good and only ever gone for boob when I've put it in front of him or told him he could, so for us it wasn't too bad to do a 1 off feed xxx

I stopped this week too with my 2 year old 🥺 he was only having it to get to sleep and I’ve just stopped. My boob is a bit sore but not too bad. There’s a breastfeeding Facebook group which has advice on stopping which is worth a look x

@Nicola thank you! I will have a looo
