Is my baby ready for their cot in their own room?

He’s 6 months and still gets up once for a feed around midnight. Sometimes cries and I turn over and pop dummy in. Don’t know whether it’s a sensible move as I’ll have to get up out of bed and go to his room to do this. Any advice/ opinions ladies? Thanks xx

I moved my son to his own room around 8/9 months I think. He still needed a feed or two overnight then but he could put his own dummy in which saved me a few trips!

I still sleep with my baby in the same room 😝, he is 3 yo. To be fair, I just get terrified to think that he might feel unwell and I’m not gonna be right next to him to find that out as soon as possible. I think each child is different, same as each mum and dad, if you think yours is ready, then go ahead and try :), worse case scenario is you will have company for a bit longer in the same room, but surely won’t last forever, good luck mamma :), follow your instincts 🩷

We moved ours when she was 6 months, mainly because she outgrown her next to me. I had the same thoughts as you (although she didn't wake for night feeds anymore since she was 3 months). It was definitely a good move, when she cries up or stirs, most of the time she settles on her own now and we only have to go over a couple of times at night. When she was with us we constantly woke up to settle her
