Curtains closed, sleeping bag on, night light on, white noise. He’s old enough now to know the difference between day and night so it’s ok to create a dark cosy environment x
Blinds closed, white noise machine on and sleep sack on but slowing making the room lighter and going to stop with the sleep sack so it's an easier transition for napping at nursery
Dark room. Sleeping bag xx
Pitch black room, white noise and his sleeping bag. Exactly how he’d have it for night time x
Curtains closed, no sleeping bag
Curtains closed, white noise, no sleep sack.
We've recently started cot naps and do curtains closed (still light coming in) and 1 tog sleep bag. Hoping to be closer to nursery setting when she goes in July.
@Jazmine is that transitioning from contact naps? If so, any tips!?! 😀
@Lucy yes we've always contact napped. To be honest I just bit the bullet and changed our routine slightly from rocking to sleep to putting into sleep bag and patting the mattress. She's always slept at night in the cot so thought I'd try. Took a couple of days as she adjusted to the changes but we're pretty much there although I sometimes have to rescue the morning. Try to keep most of the routine the same or start one such as a book before nap. Good luck!!!
@Jazmine that's amazing! She's still in our room, we'll look to move her shortly but thought starting naps would be a good option. Did you just go with the two naps straight away or one first?
Dark room, white noise and sleeping bag. Usually rock him to sleep before putting him down x
@Simone hey, if it helps in even the smallest way, I work at a nursery and you can absolutely bring their sleep sack with them xx
@Lucy we moved her first at 6 months so she's used to sleeping there. Tbh I do a mix as sometimes out for the 2nd nap but if at home then yes I went straight for it. I still occasionally have to rock her if we're teething but on the whole she gets the routine and if sleepy will be down in 10 minutes. Let me know if you want anymore info!
@Jazmine thank you so much, such a help 🙏

@Shards thanks, our nursery said we could bring it but at his settling in sessions usually he falls asleep on one of them anyway so they don't have chance to put him in it. I'm not sure it makes much difference to him as I didn't put him in it for his nap this morning and he's napped as normal. Just hoping to make it as easy as possible for the transition.
Tried our first cot nap this morning and she was just too excited being in a new place 🤣
Sleep is changing a lot atm Contact naps used to be the only way to get more than 15 mins but he is becoming happy in the cot sleep sack curtains open
Dark room, sleeping bag and white noise, same as overnight sleep with a shorter routine beforehand.
