baby rolls to belly, gets stuck — anyone else?

My almost 6-month-old rolls back to tummy like it’s her job… but can’t roll back. At night, she flips, gets stuck, screams, I flip her, she sleeps. Repeat x100. I’m basically her night-shift pit crew. She army crawls, sits, practices tummy time — but the tummy-to-back roll just isn’t happening. Anyone survive this phase? When do they figure it out (so I can sleep again)?

This was me. Honestly stop flipping her over at night lol. She will cry. It will be a tough 1-2 days and then she will just sleep on her tummy and she will be fine. Since I stopped flipping her now my baby prefers sleeping on her belly!

My 6 month old does belly to back but not yet back to belly. All in their own time.

@Katherine Thanks so much! I guess I just really miss sleep — maybe that’s selfish, but I’m exhausted haha. Was your baby able to roll from tummy to back at this age?

@Arielle Oh good! I envy you! Hehe

Its not selfish to want sleep! You need sleep to function! No my baby was not able to roll back either, she would get stuck and cry and complain. So one day I just left her and watched the monitor, I knew she was safe, and then she fell asleep! I think she got used to it. She would complain getting stuck on her belly during tummy time and being unable to roll over, but then seemed to prefer being on belly for sleep in her crib.

@Katherine that’s so interesting! Thanks for sharing! I guess I just need to that. Thanks!

My baby got stuck for maybe 2 weeks. Now he seems to do it on his own. Hopefully your baby is almost there!
