Switching from next to me crib to cot

The week he turned 6 months. He had no space left, although he still looked comfortable, but I wanted to keep the next2me out as a backup for a few days, so I didn't want to be completely out of space. He was already familiar with the big cot as he spends time in it awake while I do stuff upstairs, so the transition was smooth. He came back to the next2me the first 2 nights, but only because he was already going through a bit of a regression and I was tired of getting up, then it got better LOL
My LB is 6 months on Wednesday he outgrew his next2me and has been in his cot for 3 weeks now he absolutely loves the space and loves the freedom to be able to get in to whatever position is most comfortable for him
Do you still lay them at the end of the cot rather then the middle
@Casey I had this same thought. I’ve placed him near the bottom of the cot but he wears a sleeping bag anyway so no risk of blankets etc.
@Casey that only really applies if they use a blanket, with sleeping bags it doesn't make any difference
Perfect thank you! Yeah she is in a sleeping bag she went down in the cot ok so fingers crossed she’s happy through the night xx
I switched around 12 weeks. As the cot was supposed to be in my room. I thought its easier so he didn’t have to transition
I switched about 5 and half months as it was becoming dangerous with him pulling himself up to stand so definitely could have fallen out x
@Casey How did the night go? Hope it went okay! My LB slept through but was up a little earlier than usual but over-all a success!
Yeah went really well she’s only just woken up! So success there she did move a lot now she has the space bless her x
My LB is 6 months today and we are trying him in his cot in his own room tonight for the first time. He’s too big now for his next to me and it was starting to affect his sleep.
