50ml of colostrum in 2 days…. Is this normal?

I have been advised I can start collecting colostrum. Since doing this, I have had bad groin ache/pain and managed to get over 50ml….. I have also noticed when doing it my belly goes really hard? I know some people find it really hard to even get a couple of ml so is this abnormal? Does it mean labor is round the corner???

It's not a sign of labour, I was the same with my daughter. If it's causing tightening, you might want to ease off, though.

How long are you pumping for and how often in they two days? I can get about 10ml/day but I only pump for an hour and it’s a hand pump I’m using 🩷

Collecting colostrum can cause braxton hicks and can help induce labour which is why they say not to start until 36/37 weeks, not saying you’re going into labour as probably just braxton hicks. Some peoples breasts produces more milk then others as well everyone’s milk production is different
