Baby Still Hungry

So my daughter is 1 month & 2 days I feed her 4 oz of breast milk in a bottle when she goes to her grandparents house? She seem to be still or gets hungry 10 mins later? How much is 1 month supposed to naturally eat in breast milk? Or do I need to up her bottle ? My MIL said she needs formula but I’m only doing breastfed but it’s not filling her at all somehow? Is it me or can anyone please give me some advice? When she’s home I breastfeed her on breast!

My baby is the same age exactly and she just upped it to 5 ounces. My first daughter was the same way and only ever ate 5oz after 1 month old.

My babe is the same age and he does the same thing I started giving him 6 oz and he would finish it

My baby is the same I upgraded him to 5oz it seems to last him a little longer.

People will tell you they need formula just because they’re uneducated about breast feeding. If you’re producing that much your baby is definitely being fed well. My girl is 6 weeks and never eats more than 4 that’s just her preference. A baby that age usually takes between 2-5 a feeding but if they’re wanting more it’s okay to give more until they are full. If you want to use formula go ahead but do not let others pressure you into it. It should be your choice as a mother. It upsets me so much when people say that to breastfeeding moms. Fed is best both ways breast or formula. One is not superior.

@Ashley would he still be hungry after that?

@Audrey I just ignored her when she said that because she doesn’t need formula. I make about that much I’ll just upper her to 5 oz. Thank you a lot!

@Zacara thank you so much! ☺️

@Lizzy I should also buy a bigger bottle right? Seen that one is 4oz

@Rachel yeah I would!

My baby is the same way. We pay attention to what he needs at the moment. Sometimes he needs 4-5oz and other times he only takes 2.5-3oz.

2 and a half/5 oz it is every2/ 3 hours I would not stretch her stomach She might end up Throwing it up I would wait 30 minutes if you need to Feed her another 1oz But I feel like she's probably needs to be burp And what size Nipple is she drinking 4 oz should take her about 30/40 minutes to suck At that age If she's drinking at less than 20 minutes she's clustering feeding she wants to Suck And if you're not given her a Pacifier that's what She's doing you might need to change the size nipple Second time mom breastfeeding mom pump My little boy is 4 weeks Monday he drinks every 2 hours only 3 oz but he sleep 6_7 hours straight at night no feeds since he was 2 week old i still pump about 4am every night If you have any questions I'm here to help

My baby takes 3-4 ounces every 2-3 hours and sometimes after a bottle grandma thinks she’s hungry still but she’s actually gassy because grandma wasn’t pace feeding her and once we got the gas out she calmed down. So your baby might be still hungry or it could be gas because she’s used to your breast pacing her! Do i recommend you try pace feeding her a bottle sometime and see how you think she is and if you think that’s enough milk!

I just came back from my pediatrician visit with my 1 month old and I mentioned to him the same thing. My new born was eating 3–4oz and I noticed he’s still hungry and not that content should I feed him more and the doctor said feed him until he is full. Nothing wrong with feeding him another 1oz. I am also breastfeeding and also pumping. I also had another mom tell me the same that I should feed formula. But I will not be taking that advice. My baby is up in weight the doctor said and he is doing great! So if your baby is more hungry burp them and then feed him 1 oz more . You’re doing great mom! 🫶🏻

@Ashley oh I would have questions later for sure)) You are giving a good info)

@Ashley oh really! She wakes up about 4 hours to feed at night. We give her 4 oz in a bottle at midnight cause my fiancé helps me feeding her at night usually. Sometimes I’ll bf her at night. She doesn’t like pacifier she won’t suck on it unless she’s very hungry she’ll take it to sooth her other than that she won’t take it if she’s not hungry.

@Draya thank you mama! I’m glad your little boy is doing great! 😍

@Rachel Nipple size are you using if you don't mind me asking and how long does it take for her to drink the 4 oz If it's less than 20 minutes you need to downsize that nipple With her age you go by the nipple size She's only 4 weeks old so so she should be in 0+ I would back it up during the waking hours and give her more frequently so she can sleep at night you'll see a big difference in her My son's last feeding is at 12am his next feeding is between 630 and 7 in the morning it's OK not to give her a pacifier but she wants that suck the extra suck if she's drinking her milk less than 20 minutes Because if she was on the boob she would be drinking a lot slower if that makes sense And she would have that full suck

@Evgeniia Babadzhanova Sometimes shoot me A message I will be glad to help I have a background in infant growth And lactation consultant And child development

@Ashley how much would you say for a 2 month old?

@Laurel It depends on her weight I need some information You can shoot me a message Every child's different I can give you a lot of information if I can get her weight and height

@Ashley the bottle is called Philips AVENT? It doesn’t show but shows #1 on the nipple part? It’s one of the small bottle that you use for new borns? I got it at Walmart. She finishes it like 5 to 15 mins she’ll gulp it so fast. She gulps it likes she’s starving or something I tell her to pace herself 😂 so this morning while I pumped my fiancé gave her a bottle to help me he gave her 4oz she finished it so then he gave her another bottle 4oz but she 2 oz of the second bottle? Is it normal? Basically she ate 6oz

I never really like that particular brand But I did do research the ones from Walmart do have the stage 1 which is one month plus You need 0 plus which you have to buy extra She is not getting that let down suck that she wants because she's drinking it too fast the flow is too much I don't know why they do that with standard bottles and then I feel like you should during the day give her every 2 hours besides 3 hours 2/3 ounces So she can have that frequently suck since you're not giving her a Pacifier I promise you you'll say a big difference

@Ashley do you recommend me any bottle I should buy for my LO?

My son is 1 month and 2 days also. I was wondering the same things. He now eats 4oz and other times he only needs 2oz before waking up in an hour wanting to finish the bottle. Since he needs to sit up for 25-30 mins so he doesn’t spit up, I try to play with him for an hour distracting him before he gets fussy again. Then I give him 1 or 2 more oz. He’s been gaining almost 1 pound a week. I don’t want to over feed but he’s a growing boy.

It could also be that baby is looking for Mama to soothe. Every time with my and first and now my second were given a bottle they still wanted to nurse because they wanted to use me as a pacifier. Even just giving baby a lovey that smells like Mama can help during feeds.
