we have started to introduce formula last month so that its easier for nursery so he has a breast feed in the morning after waking up followed 2 hours later by a small amount of formula around 90-100ml breastfed throughout the day and a bottle of 180-210 formula before bed. so approx 310ml formula and the rest is breast. with regards to cows milk, with my first i ended up mixing it with breast milk at first (because i fed beyond 1 year) and slowly increased the cows milk to breast milk ratio till he was having only cows milk.
My son has two feeds a day, one before nap and one before bed. He has cows milk on a morning and then a little bit before bed too. I’ll probably drop the night feed in the next week and then by the time he’s one drop the pre nap feed. I stopped giving him a morning feed and replaced it with cows milk as he was trying my daughters and loved it and my daughter was off the boob onto cows milk just after 11 months so I didn’t see the harm. I just offer it in a sippy cup, maybe 6oz. He loves it!
@Julia Thanks for this, yes he will be starting nursery next week for 2 days and I was just going to send him in with Expressed milk as want to avoid having to buy any formula 😬 trouble is don't know how much he has with breastfeeding
@Georgina okay thanks this is really helpful! Yeah the bottle we use is a straw cup x
@Beth Ah just loves his milk obviously haha!
@Hannah i was going to do this but i unfortunately dont pump enough😢😢 formula prices are extortionate! thats why i try to ration my tin (and you have to use it within the month!)
2 cups of cows milks a day-turns 1 mid May xx
Our little boy is still having a fair bit at 11 months, about 5-6oz before first nap, 5-6oz before second nap and then 6-7oz before bed and still wakes up during the night for a bottle 🫠 He eats a fair bit as well, 3 meals and some snacks! But hes still so dinky
