Mil

I hate my mil , hate hate hate hate. She’s basically not my mil anymore just my daughter grandmother because me and my daughters father have finally separated after 4 long hard years. Anyways so on Easter was probably now the fourth time she has apologized to my child for her being with me. “I’m sorry your mom came and took you last night I’m sorry it’s not my fault” and she’s said this more than once to my daughter who mind you only just turned one not even a month ago. I find this comment extremely rude and disrespectful. What do I say or how do I go about this when it is said? Please help I’m losing my mind everytime I’m around this lady

I would say if you carry on you won’t be allowed contact, it’s just abusive what she is doing

Unfortunately I can’t not allow contact because now that me and my daughters father are separated he has our daughter on the weekends and he basically just stays at his moms house with the baby so that he can come and go as he pleases and doesn’t actually have to watch her

I would go through the court to stop her having contact as this could seriously affect your child's mental health as she grows up. You are not stopping her dad seeing her, just his mother who is a negative influence

My MIL would be the same way. Shes fucked up My son doesn’t know her and never will (thankfully) I’m so sorry you’re going through this

Hello! I would deffo look into to getting the court to order she is not allowed around baby. In Canada we have something called “parental alienation” it’s when one “side” tells the kid nasty things or makes comments about the other parent so the kid starts hating/mistrusting that parent and has been grounds for sole custody. If you are allowed to record conversations without two party consent where you live I would start recording her when you pick her up and text her/your ex saying you will not tolerate her telling your daughter that stuff and that it has to stop and then save screenshots of the conversation. Edit to add: I am sorry you experienced that, my heart breaks for you and I hope you get the justice you deserve. ❤️
