Staying asleep in bassinet

Hey all! I’m looking for advice on how to help my son stay asleep in his bassinet. Usually , he sleeps on my chest for at least an hour and some change and then I put him in his bassinet. He stays asleep in it max for about 20-30 min while in his swaddle. He has a really bad startled reflex too so sometimes he wakes himself up. What can I do to help him stay asleep?

Maybe try putting a used t shirt of yours nearby for him to smell but nit get sometimes the smell of mom works they feel less lonely

Following. Because I can't get mine to stay in his bassinet either. He's been sleeping in the bouncer

@Jo I think I’ll try that because you’re the second person to recommend it to me today

@Allison we’re in this together!

my son rlly only stays asleep in the basinet for a while when we're at my boyfriend's mom's house, but at home he only sometimes stays asleep

@Dana I’ve been eyeing these little suits for the last few days and now you really just sold me on getting one! 😊 thank you

@Jo we did this and it helped a lot. Although, we switched to the crib from the get go because she hated her bassinet (unless it was nap time and she liked it then). Now at 7.5 months she doesn’t need the shirt and sleeps through the night

@Taylor lol ur welcome

With my first, a shirt of mine near him and white noise did the trick

I put the little hatch rest go with the heartbeat sound playing in the corner of her bassinet, a pajama shirt I had leaked milk on, and since she was born in feb and nights were a little cold I put a heating pad down first to warm it up and took it out before I put her down in it…just trying to make it feel most like me lol…she has always slept well in it at night but refuses it & only will contract nap during the day (which I’ve heard helps them sleep better by themselves at night so I’ll take it)

Also her bassinet mattress itself was was too hard and she didn’t stay asleep in it until we put a softer pad down
