Sick and sleep

I’m a bit frustrated, it’s currently 4:38am and I haven’t slept, my husband picked up the flu or something at work and my son has now gotten what he had, and with that he is NOT SLEEPING, maybe 30 minute increments if that but most times he’s just crying and flailing trying to get comfortable. He eventually did fall asleep for about an hour but I stayed awake to make sure he was ok, and right as I started falling asleep he started flailing and crying again, so I know I’m not going to get any sleep tonight. Idk what to do, I don’t know how to help him and make sure he gets better sleep, nothing works, I’ve tried medicine, a bottle of milk, rocking him, patting and shushing him and he seems to just not want anything and wakes back up. Any tips and tricks? He just turned 15 months old last week if that’s any correlation ?

Humidifier, nasal aspiration (looks like a syringe with saline flush, look on Amazon), make sure to suck the boogers out (nose Frida at target is GREAT), vapor bath, Tylenol, this is if he/she is stuffy. My boys get sick constantly from preschool so I’ve tried it all. These work. They can’t sleep if they can’t breathe. Hope this helps your buddy and you!

@Kristen I’ve tried all, he just wakes up screaming and crying often, I also turn up the heat a little so he’s not so cold because he refuses to sleep with a blanket on

Try not using heat as it aggravates their respiratory system and plus their bodies run a bit hotter when sick to fight the virus. Try a light sleep sack and a T shirt. The nasal flush is a game changer. (This is not just saline spray and suction)
