Getting worried

I’m getting really worried about my boys physical development (9 months on Thursday) - he still can’t roll from his tummy onto his back, he isn’t crawling but can move from sitting to lying on his front and he won’t weight bare on his legs (if he does it’s for a few seconds) My daughter was crawling and standing up by 7 months so this is all new to me! Anyone experienced the same? Any help or advice appreciated!

His sleep is also suffering as he rolls onto his front and then can’t roll back and he cries out for help- numerous times a night 🙈

Hey! Mine is 9 months on Saturday and can't roll, (he's done it 3 times and that's it😅), he can't crawl or bare weight on his legs. He's only just mastered sitting😂 does plenty babbling so think he's more focused on that first😆 all develop at different rates, I wouldn't worry. I'm not😆

It’s completely understandable that you’re feeling concerned—especially when you’re comparing things to your daughter’s timeline. But there’s a huge range of what’s considered normal when it comes to physical development, and it’s very common for second-time parents to notice differences between siblings that feel worrying but are still within that normal range. Is him chubby? I’m asking because I heard from the health visitor that chubby babies takes longer to achieve milestones.

My little boy will be 9 months on Saturday and still can’t really roll back to front. He can roll front to back. He can’t crawl. He kind of shuffles backwards a little though 😂. My first was fully crawling and climbing at this age so I was worried to start but babies just develop so different and at different rates 😊

My girl is 10 months on Friday and she also can’t bare weight on her legs, she just lifts them up in front of her! Can’t crawl either. But I’d say her fine motor skills are quite good so trying to focus on that and know she’ll get there in her own time! X

My baby learned to walk then roll, go figure! 🤣 They’re all so different, don’t sweat it! 😘

If you're really concerned you could speak to a HV but they do all develop at their own pace. My boy is doing all of the above though and is starting to walk (almost 10 months)

My boy turned 9 months a few days ago and he’s the same as your little one. I’m not overly worried as my first was the same and he’s got no issues (nearly 4 now)

Mine can't do any of this ether. Please do try not to worry love 🥺 babies develop at different rates. My cousins baby is 6 weeks older and still not crawling and I have a friend with a baby a month younger than ours who is crawling. Got another friend with a baby 3 months older than ours and she can't even sit up, Dr's and health visitor aren't worried. Mine has 4 teeth and all of theirs have none. There's no direct science with babies.

My daughters the same idk what to do

My 9 m/o is the same! She can only roll front to back (she hates tummy time and will roll as soon as I put her on her belly 😂) she couldn’t weight bare a week ago and now she’s standing so strong. She still can’t pull herself up or crawl or anything but atleast she’s trying!

My boy also 9 months has been growing through a massive development spurt these past two weeks. He went from not being able to roll or bare weight on his arms and just screaming all the time he is on his tummy to actively rolling from back to front and trying to crawl. He still can’t roll tummy to back yet, has done it a few times but that’s about it. He is also not putting any toys/food in his mouth, happy to be spoon fed but won’t put things in his mouth on his own.

I had my little boy's 10 month review yesterday and she said a lot of babies come in that can't crawl/move much yet etc and was surprised that my little boy is doing so much (much like your little girl at 7 months) - I think boys are also known to be behind a bit more
