When did your baby start listening ?

Just curious when did everyone’s 16 month old start to listen to/understand/follow directions/orders, if they do. Mine will look at me and ignore me😂he clearly is not there yet but when I ask him to give me something he chucks it at me, that’s about it. He doesn’t understand much, just babbles all day long.

It’ll just click anytime from 9 months to 2 years. My lb has followed one request since he was 13 months but this month he seems to be following a few more xx

Some instructions he will follow, others he’ll just give me a look and do it anyways so I think he’s still understanding 🤣

My son definitely understands a lot but chooses to be very selective about which instructions he follows 🤣

Probably for a month now I've been able to ask her a few things like bringing something, finding something. She does understand a lot though

I think every baby is different, maybe mine light learn it abit later then😭for now I’ll just accept the chucking of things at me

If I see get your shoes, doggy, car , pig, he gets them if I say do you want to draw or have a snack he understands it all but if it’s something that doesn’t happen regular like let’s go feed the ducks he doesn’t fully understand, he has a good understanding but doesn’t talk yet 🤷🏻‍♀️ they are all so different just keep repeating and your little one will get it soon enough xx

My 16 month old has got no understanding yet, and still no words.

I would say I don’t think mine understands verbal instructions but understands if there’s a gesture or object with it. If I ask him to put his nappy (bagged) in the bin, he takes it to the bathroom and puts it in the bin. If I hold my hand out he’ll give me something but if these were just verbal instructions I don’t think he would
