Early labor definitely felt a bit like diarrhea/period cramps where as braxton hicks just feel like an overall tightness of the stomach
Braxton hicks for me had no pain and just made my belly tight and hard. Contractions felt hard, kinda like period cramps but i usually get the pain my my upper thighs and then my lower back felt like I need to let out a poop or extreme gas haha all at once
When I was expecting for the first time, I thought I had food poisoning. I had period like cramping and extreme bowel movements. I had the uncontrollable urge to evacuate my bowels. I continued to have contractions while I had diarrhea. But after 5-10 minutes I still had the urge to shit and nothing was coming out. At that point, it wasn’t shit that was trying to come out and I was in active labor. Labor contractions do come in waves, but there will be very small windows of relief. Your entire stomach will contract and it’ll feel difficult to breathe through it, talk, or think straight. The pain is almost disorienting.
This happened to me last night and it was also paired with vomiting. I was convinced I was in early Labor and went to L&D to be monitored. My contractions on the monitor barely made it to the early labor stage but were fully in the Braxton hicks stage so now I have so freaking clue what to expect because that was some of the most insane pain I have ever felt and all the doctors were just like “nope, no contractions”
Yes they can!
@Natalia ok.. that’s similar to what I’m feeling! 😅 Tomorrow is my birthday.. I told this baby she CAN’T arrive THIS week! 😅😆 Of course she wouldn’t listen!
@Lauren omg.. that’s wild! & that’s what I’m afraid of! These pains were excruciating.. I was thinking, I can’t anymore.. haha.. silly me, that’s nothing yet apparently!! 😅
@Liz I am hoping that because I was dehydrated due to the vomiting they just felt worse. I am going to make sure to really up my fluids and electrolytes and hope I don’t get like that again.
I heard they feel like period cramps just like 10x worse 🙂↕️but I haven’t experienced them either I think
