How do I go about finding a provider for a vbac?

I just found out and feeling very nervous to call around. Are there resources to find vbac providers and maybe even reviews? I'm Upstate NY area so if anyone knows any around Syracuse, Rome, Oneida or Utica area. I'm skeptical of a hospital birth but not sure if we can afford a homebirth.

You can see if there is a local “ICAN” (international cesarean awareness network) Facebook group in your area. And then ask around on the Facebook group for VBAC supportive practitioners vs VBAC tolerant practitioners. Have you looked at what a hospital birth would cost? I can only speak to my situation, but if I had a hospital birth, I would likely be charged the out of pocket max for my insurance for the year which is $10k. My home birth is $5k. So I’m doing a home birth and granted all things go well, it’ll be a much more affordable option for me.

My 2nd child would be dead/a vegetable if I'd tried a home birth. You might only have seconds to minutes between needing an emergency C-section and brain damage. So for me, it's not worth any of the risk. My hospital encouraged me to go for a vaginal birth. You can call your hospital/OB and they can probably give you resources too!
