Car issues

Does anyone else’s baby scream and cry in the car? It started at about 3.5 months old and is just relentless 😩

Yes, my little boy went through this about the same age, we tried everything in the end I had to swap his car seat and introduced some car activities like a mirror with toys hanging and the piano mat. We’re now almost 6 months and no issues (at the moment 🫣🤣) he seems to settle really well in his new seat, it has more padding and is more upright so he can see more xx

Yes my little girl does! I’ve ended up crying with her before😂 she hates being strapped in to the pram and the car seat. I know she’s just been fed etc so I don’t know what else to do?

I have the same issue :(

My little one struggled with this! He has reflux so it was also making him feel uncomfortable like after a bottle. I’ve been taking him to a chiropractor and seen a massive improvement! He had a lot of tension in his neck etc from birth which the chiropractor has been able to help with! Now he’s much more happy and settled in the car seat and even falls asleep on drives :)

Thank you for the comments so far! I should have put more detail; 90% of the time she’s fine if I’m next to her in the back so my husband can’t experience how awful it is for me driving on my own. She’s 5.5 months now so it’s out of the blue been bad for just over 2 months. She’s always had a mirror and I bought a car seat toy that she can play with and loves but ignores most the time when it’s just me driving her. I’ve tried doing lots of short journeys to have a positive experience but most the time when it’s just me driving her, she starts crying before we’ve even set off. I always try to time car journeys when she’s changed, fed and had a nap so isn’t too tired (she definitely won’t sleep in the car sadly!) I haven’t tried a chiro or osteo yet because I think it’s more behavioural as a separation anxiety perhaps because if I’m at next to her in the back she’s mostly fine. Sorry for the long message!

We’ve had this for the longest and a few days ago I adjusted the head head rest so it was a little higher and he’s been fine since. I feel so bad now, his poor head was probably feeling too squashed

Yes unfortunately my little one is like this too 😭

My boy is the same, I have to time going out in the car/pram when he’s due a nap or he just cry’s, I’ve bought toys/lights everything and he just doesn’t like being strapped down when awake he will nap in the car but I have to stop 50 times to put his dummy back in and he eventually goes to sleep!

Put her seat in the front, if she's ok with you in the back this should hopefully help

Have you tried the Happy Song and singing to her? If separation anxiety, maybe this will help!

@Natasha oh yes, I forgot to mention we have this and her favourite baby sensory song on repeat too 🤣

@Charley she can’t be rear facing in the front seat of my car and I’d rather she was safer and crying than risk this, but thank you for the suggestion

same here! Had the happy song on repeat which didn’t help at all, and now it’s burned in my brain 😵‍💫 it’s better if it’s with my partner at the back but if it’s just me and my toddler it’s inconsolable. So so hard and sad, I won’t drive anymore!

Why can't she rear face in the front of the car? Are you unable to turn the airbag off?

Only when we hit traffic.

Yes I’ve had it with both little ones. It’s horrible but I promise you it gets better. Mine is 5 months old now and is a lot more content x
