Im suffering really badly with anxiety too, currently pregnant with my first after a miscarriage x
I can really recommend CBT therapy for PPA, there might be a local service you can make a self referral with. You should be prioritised since you’ve got a little one…
I started taking paroxetine for anxiety 3 weeks ago (9 months postpartum) and I'm just starting to notice it taking the edge off. I've had no major side effects so far other than a very twitchy eye and initially some drowsiness but I'd say that's worn off now. I was experiencing feelings off panic (not panic attacks) and nausea/loss of appetite due to anxiety and this definitely feels more under control. Generally speaking I'm not a super anxious person but felt this was becoming my new baseline and recognised I needed to address it. x
I've always been an anxious person but becoming a mam just made it so much harder to deal with I started having health anxiety and just really really struggled especially with my second, I'm now on fluoxetine and honestly I was terrified of medication as they can make you more anxious at the start but now I'm in a much better headspace honestly has changed everything for me for the better, I also get counselling as well and that's a real game changer xx
Thank you everyone. It’s hard to remember that I’m not the only one dealing with this sometimes so it makes me feel less alone. Calling the drs tomorrow and will go from there. X
@Sarah best of luck, even seeking support is a huge brave thing to do and you should be proud of yourself, here to speak anytime xx
I take sertraline, I started it about 5 months after I had my lil girl. I've been on it for over a year now. It helped turn down the volume of my thoughts alongside therapy. I'm so glad I took it x
We’ll always worry as mothers. My youngest is 4 and there’s times I worry she’s getting enough to eat bc I feel like she barely eats. I’m sure you’re doing great. I hope wherever medication the doctor chooses to put you on helps ease your worries a little bit.
