Id made an appointment and make sure they take a look of it. Sounds like it's being over treated and becoming resistant to the standard antibiotics. You might need to do a triple whammy of stuff to get it cleared up. Like a course of antibiotics with cream and dressings. They should be swabbing it surely too. Hope you are feeling better soon for getting back to work! Sorry you've had to suffer that. Keep fighting to get seen x
@Hayley they just keep telling me to keep it clean and dry & call again if still doesn’t clear. It some times will clear for a couple days and then it’s red and inflamed again 😩 I have a slight overhang, nothing major and average size 12/14. It rubs slightly if I wear jeans - so try to avoid them + saw something about period pads but it’s not that much of a overhang they fall out 😂
I haven’t experienced this unfortunately so can’t give any first hand advice, but I’m so sorry it looks so sore for you 😢 it does look a little like how my baby’s neck was when he was a newborn and it was from it getting wet ( mainly from milk dribbling down) and not drying properly, we took him to the doctors and they said to clean with warm water on a cotton pad and then pat dry with another cotton pad and made sure it was 100% dry - and applying nappy cream as a barrier. Maybe you could try this and see how you get on? X
@Vicky that’s what I thought, same as anything. If overused stops working don’t it 😩 I think I’ll pack me and bubs up and go in there tmrw morn to get an appt rather than calling. They probs have my number saved the amount I’ve called in last year. Never went before or even during pregnancy 😬
I know you’re a year PP but can you go to triage ? I also know it’s not an emergency but if left untreated it could be. Not acceptable to be left like this - it’s not fair. Sorry you’re experiencing this 😔
@Hayley or even get a scan to see if there’s anything internal not healing that’s causing it to be like that
@Natalie I didn’t think of that, yes. If there’s an infection - that needs clearing up / not to just live with it. Terrible 😔
I wonder if it's from sweating/rubbing because the actual scar seems to be healed? I got it couple years ago before I even had C-section because I put on weight and got quite a bit of overhang.. it's really sore and basically is like a reaction to sweating and skin rubbing and not being able to breath. To treat it, I tried washing, drying as much as possible and was applying dry deodorant which I still do to prevent it to this day! I find the overhang sweats quite a bit and if I forget to use deodorant there even for one day I get a bit of this (not as angry but...).
I don't want to advocate for misusing services... but if GP isn't taking you seriously you can always go to A&E or potentially a minor injuries unit? Advocate for yourself 😘
This looks like a yeast infection to me. Usually treated with otc thrush cream used 2-3 times a day for 2 weeks. But if it’s recurring your gp should be seeing you! Any infection should be checked out physically and swabbed to make sure! I’m so sorry they’re letting you down like this x
You can also show this photo to a pharmacist and they can advise you too x
Oh goodness me - no I’ve had nothing like this 😔 sorry You’re experiencing this. What has the Dr / GP nurse said ? Smells = infection namely. Do you carry extra weight on your mid area - is it rubbing??
