@Jilissa probs not such a helpful comment! I never experienced this as my eldest was 4 wheh my little was born but I’m sure it’s just a phase and try to not let it bother you. I know it’s hard-my eldest only wanted her dad at that age! X
My 21 month old wasn't like it during pregnancy but we're going through hitting big time now baby is born. I think its an age thing hence 4yo wouldn't be doing it... We have introduced a time out on the bottom step and each time explain "you're going to sit here because you hit mummy and that's not kind". I can't say it's worked much yet but we will just be persevering! Remember everything is just a phase and try not to take it personally!
I think it's just a little bit of jealousy as he can probably sence there's going to be a change and that mummy is going to have a new baby. I had it with my first born when I had my second. But I just tried to involve him as much as I could when his brother was born and I tried to make it as fun as possible! I also bought him a baby from the store but he was 18 months old when his brother was born. They grew up to be the best of friends :) its hard but it didn't last long with my son.
Tbh I don't think it's to do with the pregnancy, it could just be a coincidence but this is a stage they go through. They are learning new things and want to be more independent and all kids go through a hitting stage. He will grow out of it, don't take it personally he loves you x
My 4 old son was so happy when I was pregnant he helped me in the house
