Screaming at boob

My one month old recently started to scream every time I offer the right side breast. Like right off the bat screaming even if he was calm seconds before when chilling in a feeding position. I’ve tried different positions for him to feed in and have the same result. I thought it was him being tired but when I lift him or offer the left he’s perfectly fine. I’m just so confused. Can they hate one boob and just refuse to eat on it?

I’ve heard of babies doing that if your letdown is either too slow or too strong. Probably too strong if it’s immediately. You could try pumping a little before offering so the letdown isn’t as strong.

Yeah it’s called “the power boob” because my milk just waterboards her and poor thing chokes on the milk 😭 The only way I have found to fix it is trying different positions…usually she’s more ok if I have her side lying on the bed

Mine hated the right side for a while. I think the left side was an easier pull for her and a better position. My baby was lazy and didn't want to work at breastfeeding because she was introduced to the bottle in her first days at the hospital. I kept trying and eventually she took to the right side

Have you tried laying on your back to feed? They are laying on their tummy that way, and I’d imagine have a difficult time differentiating between either breast

To fast or slow flow on one side. My girl doesn’t like my left as much and has a harder time staying latched.
