Did you have diastasis recti? If you did dis you go to see the doctor with concerns as to why your belly hasn't gone down? Or your belly button hasn't gone in either?

Did the doctor refer you to physio? Did you self refer? And has your belly gone flat again? I would love to know other womens experiences as I am 6 months pp and my belly button is still out and I still look very pregnant.

So I’ve had 3 kids now. My belly button doesn’t “pop” during pregnancy, it actually just stretches completely flat. I did have diastasis recti after my first child. I was referred to a surgeon who ordered CT scans. I had a hiatal hernia and had surgery to have it repaired.

When I went for my 8week check up (at 10 weeks) the doctor said I have bad diastasis recti I have a big gap but there is no point sending me for surgery if I'm having more kids, as it might over stretch again. He said some exercises would help, he didn't say what thought. I'm 3months PP my belly looks big and my belly button isn't normal anymore :(. There is videos with pilates that can help. X @Amber what happened with surgery.. Where did they cut? Did it work? Is it basically like a c section scar ect?

Everyone gets it when pregnant but it’s the severity and they not going back after pregnancy is a problem. I would definitely go to a pelvic floor therapist to help work on that and your pelvic floor.

@Amber did this hernia affect you?

@Khadiijah I have I think 4 small scars that form like a crescent shape on my stomach, you hardly see them. The surgery is called laparoscopic hiatal hernia repair which is minimally invasive. A mesh netting was put into place to hold everything together. I didn’t have any problems having more kids after having the surgery. I’d see a different doctor for a second opinion if you wanted.

@Maddy yes. After having my daughter and before the surgery, I was in pain almost constantly anytime I would eat. I could literally see food pass through my intestines underneath my skin. Most of the time what I would eat would get caught, which caused intense pain along with nausea and vomiting. That all stopped once the surgery was performed. I had two more children years later.

Also, I had my surgery in 2017 and haven’t had any issues that weren’t caused by myself like moving a certain way or something like because you can feel it pull from time to time if you move wrong
