I breast feed but gave my baby formula because I was having latching issues and honestly I don’t mind the mix between the two I just do more breast feeding more than anything. But it’s nice to get a break off my boobies when I need it. Also I’m trying to make a supply for future needs so I’m trying to freeze some of the milk I’m producing. But I’m using this supplement and it’s been giving me a great milk supply and I’m only 13days pp baby is doing great https://www.target.com/p/legendairy-milk-lactation-vegan-support-bundle-180ct/-/A-76150838
Sorry I meant like if I exclusively switched to formula and couldn’t breastfeed at all anymore. I’m just worried I won’t have that same deep connection. But it seems like no matter what I do she is not able to get what she needs. So breastfeeding is starting to just become stressful and make me sad.
Connection will be formed either way . If you can t breasfeed just do 30min of skin to skin it’s still does the same as breastfeeding . Putting then on ur skin while you pump
With breastfeeding it just help regulate the supply & demand with the required skin to skin . Don’t beat urself take care of urself first as it has direct impact on your babies mood & development . They sense all ur mood swings pretty closely
I did both formula and breast with my now 3 year old and I’m doing the same method with my daughter. To me, it’s not about how I am nurturing my kids that is going into the bond. It’s the environment I’m creating for them. Your baby might not understand it but you talking to them and playing with them is building with that connection regardless if it’s a bottle or a boob in their mouth.
@Qua’zanae so did you supplement with formula but still breastfed the whole time? Or what method did you do?
With my first two I struggled a LOT with breastfeeding. My supply was an issue and both of my girls struggled to gain weight. I ended up feeling closer to them both once I switched to formula because it took away the stress and pressure I felt. It also helped me to relax when they started gaining weight consistently.
@Sky that makes me feel a lot better! Yeah like right now she is just constantly crying and doesn’t sleep like ever. We just don’t know for sure if it’s strictly hunger or something else. Cause I nurse her and then pump and give her whatever I get from pumping. So I think she is getting enough but just can’t figure out exactly what the problem is. But if I don’t pump after the feed she definitely doesn’t get enough and is super hungry. So it’s definitely been overly stressful the last 2 weeks. I want this to work so bad but it just isn’t ☹️
I never felt like that but I do feel guilty if I don’t at least keep trying but i formula feed only because my supply is a little low
