sleeping in own room?

When are you all putting your little ones in their own room? my little one is almost 5 months now and *almost* sleeping through the night. The only problem is that his bedroom is upstairs, while ours is downstairs. when would you suggest we put him in his own room?

I wouldn’t separate rooms just yet until your baby is able to walk up the stairs on their own safely or swap his room go downstairs so that in a case where he learns to open the door & accidentally falls down the stairs trying to get to you guys

For our last two, they moved to their own bedroom at 18 months when they didn’t need to be in a crib anymore. We transitioned them straight to a toddler bed and a baby proof room.

Mine sleeps on his own, through the night, and has been for several weeks. Spent about a month or two sleeping on a bed in the nursery while my son slept in the crib. And then a couple weeks ago I transitioned to sleeping in our bedroom again, and he stayed in the crib upstairs. And it’s worked out fine for us.

My baby could never sleep in our room since sounds kept waking him up. We slept downstairs with him for the first month and then he’s been in the room next door to us in his crib since month 2. We have a baby monitor right by us in bed so we can hear any sound he makes. He sleeps through the night and does great.

She sleeps in her own room for naps, but I’m waiting until she doesn’t wake for night feeds to transition there for all sleeps because I’m lazy! It’s so nice to have her next to me in the bassinet and I can just pop her in the bed to nurse and pop her back in the bassinet. Why put more work on myself at the point 🤷🏻‍♀️
