Yes, doesn’t seem to make a difference
My 3 week old does this. I’m attempting to find things that will make her bassinet more comfortable for the moments I have to put her down. Last week she likes the room to be cool and the sound of a heart beating. It just takes some exploring.
Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child was my sleep bible with my first. It does promote "cry it out" methods, but makes a clear distinction that CIO was never many to be "ignore your baby indefinitely in distress". It exists on a spectrum with a lot of modifications and variations, and expectations are different for a newborn than older ages, of course. I don't remember all the details, but it saved my sanity. Safety and your own mental health are extremely important, and sleep deprivation can literally be dangerous, so do whatever you need to. Remember warm, dark, and quiet for good sleep. Are you swaddling? Babies can be particular about which swaddle they like and some just hate it. Arms in is recommended to keep the Moro reflex from waking them, but fine always fought their little hands out of every single one, so the SwaddleUp has been the solution for us.
You can try and do the thing where you sleep in a shirt and then place it in the babies bassinet for awhile to try and get it smelling like you. We swaddle our baby and then have to wait until she is in her super deep sleep before we can place her in her bassinet. Also if she fusses a tiny bit I don’t grab her immediately. Cause sometimes she is just wiggling and grunting or making different sounds but will put herself back to sleep. I always grab her if she starts actually like cry fussing. But definitely attempt to let your baby settle if they aren’t super upset or crying or anything.
NB need the skin warmth of mama so they tend to be very sensitive when put away . I had my 2 week do that for an entire week just to realize that their safe place. But once in deep sleep I moved to crib and continued to sleep . They take about 20min to get into deep sleep and when u move them they tend to stay asleep . Also putting them down put the feet first moving up with head last so they don’t get startled
Have you tried using a sound machine?
