Rant

Hey mamas, I just feel like ranting. With the current cost of living being so high, I feel like I’m getting to point where I’m gonna loose it. I am a mom of a 14month old, I work full time and it’s just me and her. The monthly bills just keeps increasing, my salary only covers our monthly bills, I have to use my ov...

My partner pays the majority of the bills but I do need to bring some money in so we can have a better quality life. I do have an empty room at the bottom of the garden w...

Pay scale progression

I’m currently on maternity leave (started mid June, resuming late April). My school is currently collecting PPDR goals. I’ve not been contacted to do this. But since I’m on maternity leave do I automatically go up the pay scale? Do I do my PPDR? Or do I stay on the same pay scale until September 2026?

How much pocket money should a 14yo and 16yo receive?

Weekly or monthly? They are both girls. They are my step-daughters so I want to make sure they’re getting enough for their age and not too much or too little. Although they will always tell their dad it’s not enough 😤

Anyone had a career change after having a baby?

All my previous jobs were retail or reception work & I had to be fully flexible on my availability. Now a mum(dad involved but doesn’t help with childcare), I have the free 15hrs nursery(on a waitlist) and my mum & aunty have thankfully offered to babysit a day each! I’m looking for 2-3 set days ideally! Did you ...

Sure Start Maternity Grant

Hey everyone. Has anyone managed to claim the £500 maternity grant for their first child? I’m reading if you have other kids in the house you can’t get it but this is my first child and my partners kids are 7 & 8 so that seems very unfair that I should miss out? Also obviously not going to have anything from when t...

What are my options? (Ontario specific, but any advice will help)

I don't qualify for short-term disability through my work. I can't afford to take 18 month mat leave. Keeping my son home from daycare is not an option (loves it so much and needs to be on a strict schedule which the daycare provides). I have to go on leave early due to high risk and other things affecting my abi...

Am I too stupid?

How do you feel when sales people hit on you multiple times a day and just want to steal your money and time? They’ re everywhere. I was in sales department, but this became more aggressive. I just paid for some stuff I don’t really need.

For some reason, I am having a hard time leaving the workforce but I’m also miserable everyday. I feel like I am carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders and suck at work. How many groups/classes are we doing a week?

I want to make the most of my maternity leave as I think this could be my only child. She doesn't have any other babies in the family, and I don't have any friends with similar aged children. We currently do 1 swimming class & go to a feeding support group.
