Shared Parental leave

Wonder if anyone can help - I’m due on 21st April. Was planning to go at Easter which would put my first date of maternity down at 14th April (as I’ll be paid for Easter). Would this mean I wouldn’t qualify for SPL in the summer because I’ll be on enhanced pay until mid August? Trying to work out the best option! Th...

Is this true??

If I give birth early my maternity leave will obviously start earlier but does this mean my annual leave which I have booked will get cancelled?? I’m freaking out as I need that last wage to survive until maternity allowance comes through. 😭

How long are you taking off for maternity?

I’m taking the full 12 months! initially I wasn’t going to because it’s soo long but I already have a toddler so I think it makes sense to have as much off because when else do you get that chance! I literally work so much so need this time off with my babies ✨💙💕 How long have you booked off?

California Maternity Leave

So I’m seeing that with SDI (10-12 weeks) and PFL (up to 8 weeks) we can get 4.5 months of leave or 5 months with csection. I’ve heard once you apply for SDI, we basically lose a week of pay and get paid the week after. So should I apply another week earlier so I won’t lose a week? (If my job lets me go on leave at ...

Help mamas!

I need some help mamas. Maybe someone knows about a work from home job that is hiring. I recently had my baby 10/30 and work wants me back now. They denied my bonding and extra time off. I’m a credentialed teacher but I’m willing to do anything from home just so I can spend more time with my baby. If anyone knows a...

Feeling lost with prenatal care and hospitals

I really don’t remember how I chose the birthing hospital for my first. It was at a military hospital and I remember I had a civilian obgyn. This time I have both a civilian doctor and obgyn. But idk what hospitals work with my obgyn as I just got the referral today. (Switching from my current insurance to Tricare)....

Employment rights question for part time mums

If you work part time on set days of the week and your employer gives full time staff the 24th December off and since this falls on a non work day for you, you are not given anything for this. Is this fair? Wanted to check if anyone has dealt with something like this in the past.

With a high risk pregnancy, who are you supposed to see for a bad cold/cough?

My OB is closed for the week so I went to urgent care, but they are scared to prescribe me anything because of my high risk pregnancy. They prescribed an antibiotic that *should* be safe to take but said that I should call my MFM triage line to make sure. I'm pretty sure my MFM told me to just go to urgent care and...
