Successful homebirth - Eden

Managed a homebirth for my second daughter, Eden. She was born 12.02 at 9.29am. 40 weeks or 40+1 as we had 2 due dates 😅 I had a sweep on the 11th at about 3.30pm where the midwife could get me to 4cm, so was pretty hopeful it would work. Started contractions at 2am, they were fairly regular. So got my husband up at 3am and rang my mum at 4am to come over to get my daughter when she wakes up. Bounced on my birthing ball and rang our homebirth team at 5am, we didn't need them but wanted to ring in advance. Luckily we did as no one was available until the day shift at 7am. My daughter and mum left at around 7.45am and things started to get intense quickly, rang the team again and they got to us within half an hour. I was very much transitioned at this point so they very quickly got the pool set up (with several hiccups!) By the time I could get in Eden was crowning, and was born in th water at 9.29am. The team were great after, so respectful and helpful. They left at around midday and left zero mess behind! It's been lovely to be home the whole time, we've been so relaxed. So glad we chose this option. Good luck to all mamas to be and a special love to those also chosing a home birth 💗

Congratulations ❤️

Huge congrats!! Home births are a wonderful experience! Enjoy your time with your new addition ❤️

How amazing - I am hoping for a home birth for my first due in 2 weeks. Left in the open though as no home birth team in Southampton, so it’ll be if they have the ability to send a midwife from the acute hospital (been told about a 50/50 chance). Your birth sounds wonderful so happy for you xx

Congratulations 💖 that sounds like my dream birthing. Well done!

Congratulations

Amazing 🥰 congratulations 🥰I'm planning a home birth too! My due date was yesterday and hoping to get a sweep today so this has given me hope the sweep might work and I won't have to be induced 🤞

What an amazing birth experience. Welcome to the world Eden

Amazing 🤩 congratulations and well done 🧡

Congratulations ❤️💜 I would love a home birth but I feel I’m just not brave enough!

Congratulations! Did you need any pain relief, are they stil able to give you when you are In the birthing pool? Thinking of options for my birth due in august :)

Awww congratulations and very well done you! 👏❤️ Hope you and baby are doing well 🤗 x

@Alisha I personally just used a tens machine, comb and the water as pain relief. You can have gas and air which you can use in the pool x

And thanks everyone! She's met her big sister and the chaos has begun

Congratulations! I’m ‘due’ in a couple of weeks and also planning a home birth, love seeing happy home birthing stories like this 🥰

Love this! I am planning a homebirth for our first, due 28th Feb 🤞 xx
