Preeclampsia

Question, for those of you who had preeclampsia for your first pregnancy, did this reoccur for other pregnancies? Or what can you do to combat that? For reference, I had preeclampsia for my first and only baby right now, but it seems very odd bc there was no maternal history, I am in my early 20s, exercised regularly and ate fairly well... worried this would happen again if I had a second baby. Thoughts? insight?

I never had with second baby.

I had it with first and had gestational hypertension (high blood pressure) with second but never turned into preeclampsia. They usually have you take baby aspirin in your next pregnancy to help prevent the blood pressure and preeclampsia, but I wasnt able to tolerate it, made me throw up. I do fine with aspirin normally and I have nearly perfect blood pressure when I'm not pregnant. If I had been able to take it, I may have never had the BP issues, but who knows. Its fairly common for women to have a perfectly normal second pregnancy after preeclampsia though! So don't stress it too much. Also, preeclampsia doesnt discriminate. It's something to do with the placenta they've recently discovered and has nothing to do with your weight or eating habits or age or family history, etc. Incredibly healthy and fit women get it all the time.

thank you!!
