In my city they did have to verify my income, and while my husband and I were still working we didn't qualify, but now that I've been too sick to work and plan to stay home with the baby afterwards, we qualify. But even then it's only because we have custody of my brother in law who was 16 when I applied, now 17. It must depend on where you are because I've heard both ways but I definitely needed to qualify as low income in my area.
I qualified and I was also pregnant and unemployed and yes when they ask about income they’ll use your boyfriends income information

@Jaylyn they won’t allow that they need some record of how you’re affording your child I tried to do wic solely with me listed but they had to list and use my boyfriends income as proof there was at list some kind of income base
Depending on how much he makes (can’t be too much) you should get approved, especially if you’re pregnant or have a baby or a child under 5 in general
i get paid under the table so i have no proof of income, im currently in the process of getting wic but they said since i already have medicaid that qualifies enough instead of proof of income. i'm not including my boyfriends name or income on anything to help me get the most benefits possible
For reference he makes somewhere between 65-70k a year, and where we live we don’t have mail boxes (only P.O. Boxes) so I would have to show our lease with both of our names (as proof of residence), so I have no choice but to say I live with him lol But alsooo….if I applied would there be conflict with my food stamps? I have a different address listed for that and I told them I DONT live with my bf but a family friend. To be fair all that was true when I got them…just haven’t updated it and ik they would take them away if I did.
You need to be honest. If you don't qualify, you don't qualify

wic is income based any pregnant women or child under 5 gets it but only if you meet the income requirement. You never want to lie with government based things bc if they find out they will make you pay however much you spent.
but if you have state insurance you get it no matter what is what my wic office told me
@Jessica I get state insurance until I’m 25 due to me aging out of foster care. So not sure if that would trump the income. I didn’t know that though!
Things are expensive but no one forced you to have kids or to formula feed. The state and government doesn't have an obligation to support you

Are you on medicaid at all if so in my state I automatically qualified because I'm on medicaid.
And you can call make an appt and then they'll tell you at the first appt if you qualify. My bf is the only income in my house too so they went off his income.

@Samantha I am on Medicaid! And they tell you first appointment if you qualify?! I thought you had to wait awhile, so that’s a relief because I’m definitely applying way too late anyways😭🤣
What state do you live in?
And yeah I scheduled my appt and then went and had my wic card and benefits that day. And trust me it has helped money wise so much. Just the milk alone lol

My mom works at sheetz I live with her I’m unemployed as well and I got accepted I’m pretty sure they should accept you depends on ur state
My state they had to verify my income but they said since I qualify for Medicaid I automatically qualify for WIC. I just needed proof of pregnancy from doctors office
I qualified and I’m married, I was also working at the time. I was making 600 to 1000 per week. My husband didn’t have income at the time. But WIC threshold is way different than food stamps. I think you’ll be fine. Hope it all works out. 🙂
If you have Medicaid you should qualify !! They require you to bring your insurance card and ID !!
@Nea not everywhere requires your insurance/medicaid card! but yes to ID
Everyone qualifies for Wic it’s not a income based thing
