If I pay for 2 days at nursery can I claim the extra 15 hours to add to it? Or is it one or the other?

You'll have to speak to the nursery, some have rules around what you can claim. It depends what they've decided to offer

As long as your nursery are signed up to offer the free hours, you can absolutely use the 15 free hours and then pay what’s outstanding on top for any additional hours you need - most people do this as it’s very unusual for anyone to need exactly 15 hours!

Some nursery’s are saying that you need atleast 2 days/ 18 hours of nursery every week (not just term time) to be able to claim the 15 free hours (11.25 spread over the year)

Yes you can use the 15 hours Depend on the nursery Most of the nurseries I visited they accept minimum of three days.. 15 hours will work out about 9 hours a a week something to do with weeks calculation

The free hours only run between 9am and 3pm so if they're open longer than that you pay "wrap around fees" it's because of these wrap around fees that we can't afford to put our three year old who's entitled to 30 in for more than 2 days. So he's only using 12 of his 30 free hours! Also only work during term time and not on bank holidays. For our three year old we still pay over 400 quid a month including his free hours. Small print is a b*tch!

@Bethan I think the 9-3 thing is nursery-dependent
