Growth scan

I've hady 36 week midwife appointment and have been sent for a growth scan for tomorrow. My partner is unable to make it as he's working. Just wondering whether you get a photo like the other scans? Also can you film the screen? He's gutted that he's missing it.

You can't film sadly due to silly data protection rules and you don't tend to get photos because they're all squashed up x but ask and see what they say on the pics x

I’ve never got a pic with a growth scan.

No filming and 9/10 no photos, I had one last Monday and babe was so squashed and in my pelvis you could barely make anything out. Plus they are too big to get proper photos but sometimes you can get lucky and get a profile headshot depending on where babies head is x

I’ve had two growth scans now and you honestly can’t see anything really, no face or anything they just measure baby but not how they would have on your 12 or 22 week. My partner had to miss todays and he honestly didn’t miss much other than the skull trying to push through my pelvis and some toes in my ribs

Baby is so big now that there won’t be that much to see as they will be so screwed up! It’s all dependant on your sonographer as to weather they will let you take a picture of the screen or print a photo xx

Thank you all so much for your replies.

I always ask for a photo at my growth scans, last had one at 32 weeks and got a clear photo. I’d say definitely ask for one xx

I’ve gotten random pics at growth scans. Think it depends on who does them

I got a photo last time but had to pay for it

I’ve had two growth scans and have been given photos both times, without having to ask xx

I got a photo at my growth scan x

I had a growth scan at 34 weeks and couldn’t see a thing. Baby super squished xx

thank you for that. Hopefully they can get something. It's interesting to see the face soo close up

Sometimes if they get a nice photo they can print it etc but they’re not told to. So it’s not guaranteed. But yeh no filming. It’s nice to see baby again but NHS scans to me feel very medical rather than bonding. I paid privately for any bonding ones x

I think it depends on hospital as I get a photo every time I get a scab

Has your life become a living nightmare since becoming a mom?

Sometimes I become conscious of the fact that I just have to wake up tomorrow morning and do this all over again. Every day. And then I wanna bash my head into a brick wall

Overwhelmed!

I’m due in June with my first baby, we started saving money before I found out I was pregnant and have continued to save money however, as we’ve needed to buy lots of baby stuff, decorate her room etc, we’ve not been saving no where near as much so obviously our total amount of savings hasn’t been going up as much as we like.

We’ve just had our renewal for some bills like council tax (which has gone up) etc. I just feel really deflated and thinking how on earth are we going to survive when I’m on maternity pay 😕

I know everything will be okay but it’s just really got to me today.

Did anyone else feel like this? Was there any help or things you did to make it easier?

Baby boy is officially here 💖

Born yesterday at 39 weeks. A very fast labour. Woke up at 2.30am on the 16th to my waters leaking, contractions didn’t start till 4am and then I was 2cm dilated, at 10am my contractions were strong enough where I couldn’t talk but was only 3cm so had a sweep and was admitted into the birthing centre. By 3pm baby boy was born in the pool 💖 had a bad 2 degree internal tear but I’m so so happy I can stop looking at him

Consultant booked c section for 39+4?!

Is this normal? I recently moved house so all my care was under a different hospital who advised thinking about a section after my last birth was awful with lots of complications and ended up in theatre anyway. I chose this and was told it would be at 38 weeks, also having issues with my heart, high blood pressure and preeclampsia symptoms again. But this new consultant would only book it for then but it makes me so anxious how close that is to my due date?? Is this normal?
