In my case, he suggested the name. It was very similar to something I had liked and suggested but it wasn't something he liked. So since we both liked his suggestion, we stuck with it. Now I can't picture a different name.
In my case I’ve told him what I want to name the baby and mentioned the name every chance I got until he just got used to it🤣 worked twice
For us we got to a point where we actively stopped searching for name ideas because it was getting too much. I think we had a list of 10 we both liked, then narrowed it down to three and then eventually one name just stuck. Even a week before the due date I was questioning the name we chose but then when he came I realised that for the longest time I was calling him George and no other name on the list fit. George suits him perfectly! Callum is a lovely name btw!
Picked it out of a hat.
My husband is someone who needs to sit with names for a while. So I suggest the ones I like over the course of time (even if he shoots them down over and over) and see if he comes around. We both do our own research and compile lists and whittle them down. Share our reasons for liking certain names or not others. He has actually came around to the names I really loved ☺️. PS: My eldest son’s name is Callum ❤️
We paired them all up and decided which name we would choose if that pair were the only names in the world. And then the winners of all the pairs went on to the next round and were paired up again. We had to do several rounds because I liked so many names. Helped us narrow it down to a handful to choose from but once he arrived. Although to be honest, once he was here we ended up picking a different name that we thought we had eliminated earlier
@Jessica Ah like a bracket, good idea!
Depends on a few things. Like is it your first or not. If first, definitely find a name you both like for the name. Or do what I did if can't agree. With my first, I picked two names I liked and told my ex to choose out of the two. He picked two names he liked and i picked one of them for middle. We didn't necessarily agree on names a lot. My husband's first, we looked at names together. He picked the first, and I picked the middle. My 3rd, hubby's 2nd. He just told me he wanted an L for the baby's name. So I found some I kinda like that started with L and we look them over and picked the one we liked most. He picked a middle. Next one I'd likely pick the middle, and he'd pick the first. We both agree on the them tho.
@Sam this is our second! Our first was super easy because we picked out her first name before we were even married, so we only had to think about middle names 😅
We had a list of names on my phone but then one night we were playing guitar hero (Xbox game,) and were playing a Jethro Tull song. I said Jethro sounds cool, he said do you wanna call him that, I said yeah let's do it and that's how we agreed lol
We cannot agree! Genuinely think we might be flipping a coin. Or picking names out of a hat. 🤷🏼♀️
When he’s here you’ll just know. Besides, you don’t have to name him straight away, you have to live with the name you pick forever, so don’t put pressure on it, it will come to you x
I'm my case I was your husband. 2 weeks after she was born we finally settled but I still question it now 😅
I had two name ideas (my hubby didn't give any) but out of the two I pestered him for 3 days on which he liked better and he said which one and that's how we decided lol

He told me his stories and I said I like that name if we ever have a son let's call him that and we did
For my oldest, I had a list of names I liked but her dad didn’t like any…he suggested Serenity and then later on he suggested we use my middle name (I didn’t like his other middle name suggestions). For my middle child, my husband and I discussed name ideas and talked some over with family. We wanted one that had to do with our heritages a bit and I had one but my grandma didn’t like it…anyway based off that and a bit of research I chose the name & he agreed on it. He got to give ideas on her middle name and I had to agree on one of his ideas. Same type of deal with our son except he chose his first name & I chose his middle names…we couldn’t decide which was better so we used both.
@Emily oh nice. Could do what my grandma did with my mom if you still can't pick before leaving the hospital. My mom was an unnamed baby until she started school. 🤣 My grandma did have a name picked but the hospital was a Mormon one, so if she had named her there. She would have been Mormon somehow.
We didnt have a girls name and we didn't know what we were having. We had potential names and agreed that if it was a girl then we would meet her and then choose. We had friends who had 2 names for a girl. A first pick and a 2nd and they ended up going with the 2nd once they met her. There's no need to choose a name before baby is here
I have the opposite. I could name our child the most ridiculous name and my husband would be like “Yes! Great name!”. He opinion is, I’m carrying our baby, giving up and changing my body, pausing my career, I should at least be able to name him/her.
We put aside our original lists and looked at lists online until we found a name we both really liked
@Kellie my husband has said this too. But I wanted to find a name we both absolutely loved, like our first borns name. So far we haven’t 😂
@Liz oh totally, I keep moaning at him to veto a name or suggest a name that he loves. We have found a few… I just hope he’s not just agreeing for the sake of it 🤣
My husband loved the name “Maya” and I absolutely wanted her to be called “Iris” but we both liked the other names. Iris Maya didn’t sound right so she’s Maya Iris ❤️ At first she was always going to be Robyn and we both adored it but my Mum kept referring to her when I was pregnant as baby “Robbie” and my dad who I am no contact with is called Robert so that ruined it 😂😂
You are lucky he likes a lot of names! my husband hated almost every name I liked for our second baby and there was only 2 we semi agreed on. It was stressful and I feel like I still don’t love the name we settled on. For our first it was much easier and when we saw him we knew exactly which name to go with. We had narrowed it down to 2 names though by the last week before birth
For us, once we found a name that stuck with both of us we just knew! I love the name Amos from your list! We also just had our most recent bub on June 20th and named him Emrys! 😋
