What are we doing to prepare our bodies for birth?!

As most of us are in the third trimester or entering soon, shit’s getting real!! I haven’t gotten much advice from my OB office than light exercise like walking and staying hydrated, but I was looking for things to do to prepare my body, like stretches/yoga, creams or oils I can use. I remember hearing rubbing vitamin e oil to promote elasticity and prevent tears in the vaginal area. What are you all doing?! I’m lost!🩵

I have a prenatal yoga video with light stretches and exercises! Raspberry leaf tea And the oil, yes. Might have my partner help massage it or I might just purchase a wand so I could do it myself lol

Deep squats/birth ball exercises, drinking NORA tea (nettle, oat straw, raspberry leaf, alfalfa), and eating blood building foods!

@Mina Interested in blood building foods! What are some examples?

as we get closer, my plan is: spinning babies sitting on a yoga ball ex. instead of the couch raspberry leaf tea dates prenatal massage then the week before my dd, starting with lots of rest and nutritious food (to be ready for labor to start anytime). i know it’s different for everyone, but i did this with my first and from lost mucus plug/waters breaking to birth was about 22 hours. i had some tearing, but it wasn’t bad and i think happened because i was coached to push and she came fast at the end.

I took a spinning babies class which gave great info and exercises. I planned to take Hypnobirthing class but I am currently in preterm labor so doesn't look like that will work out.

I do prenatal yoga, and also have been looking into pelvic floor exercises. I second the yoga ball. They recommend perineal massage once you’re at 34 weeks.

@Cassie sending you hugs!!🤍🤍

@Jessa lots of red meat (meat in general really), dark leafy greens, legumes, and beets! Always paired with something rich in vitamin C ideally for optimal absorption. The beets are doubly good because they’re proven to prevent high blood pressure. I’m expecting twins and my risks of hemorrhage and preeclampsia are a bit higher so I’m trying to mitigate that risk with food.

I started going to pelvic floor therapy, I think it wasvs smart decision!!

Pelvic floor exercises, I downloaded Squeeze time but haven’t tried it yet! Eating dates and drinking raspberry leaf tea, I’ll try to make some okra water as well. Bouncing on the yoga ball, perineal massage (I bought an oil from weleda), some walking as well. I thinkkkk that’s it but it’s already a lot 😅😅 oh and also practice breathing and hypno birth exercises! And squats everyday (I’ll never manage to do all of this everyday but that’s my plan hahaha)

Baby number 4 here, You don't really have to do anything your body will naturally do what it needs to. Also what is a spinning babies class? That sounds traumatic 😂
