Is it normal to get irregular periods after a pregnancy?

My first period since my pregnancy happened on May 22nd exactly 5 months after I had my daughter. I haven’t gotten a period yet in June though, so it’s like a week late at this point. I took a pregnancy test a few days ago and it was negative. My periods have usually in the past have been pretty regular. Is it normal for them to be a bit irregular at first after having a baby? I am considering getting pregnant again sometime within the next 12 months and that’s going to be hard to plan if my period stays this irregular.

Yes otherwise a doctor. 👩‍⚕️

Yes! It takes a year to get them back x

Yeah my first two were normal and my third one was 6 days late but I’m on it now haha

yes, mine were irregular before i got pregnant but only by 3-4 days, now i can go months and not get one but not be pregnant.

Yes especially if you are breastfeeding but even if you don’t get a period you can still get pregnant

I literally just got my first one after having my son. It started yesterday... I was not ready. I'm only a few days over a month post pardum. I'm exclusively breastfeeding too.

@Kayla same! Mine was 8 days late, then she just popped in 2 days ago like “I’m here, sorry I’m late”

Mine were never right even after 3 years pp. I think it’s completely normal especially that soon after a baby

Yeah i think so! I had my first 4 months pp (after i stopped breastfeeding) then after 2 weeks i had another! And then for my next i was 22 days late according to my app so its very messed up right now 😬

Thank you everyone! I just got my period tonight lol
