I told my manager quite early and then after 12 weeks I told the two people I manage in person. I then just sent a message out to the rest of the team a bit later.
I told my manager the day after I found out, so I was almost 5 weeks here. I only mentioned it so early as I had 2 days off ill at work (not knowing I was pregnant) and I had a return to work to discuss my absence and I just said “long story short I now know why I was off… I’m pregnant” I am actually really glad I mentioned it early because sometimes with low energy etc it’s really draining me, so atleast work are aware of my reasonings.
I then told some people in the office and somehow it got around lol. I mean I was/am mega bloated but🥲🤦🏼♀️
I told them at work when when I was like 7w because was something I needed to do as my work included some lifting too, and they report me to risk assesment so ended up doing easier job right now so they took it well , tell them when u ready I know it’s awkward , always is but it s for your best 😊
I felt always too 😄 I told my manager early as I was working from home and not coming to the office due to low energy and sickness. She kept it confidential until I was ready to tell the rest of the team which was last week! I just said something like: I need to tell you something: I am leaving in December. Every body was like what why do you have a new job.. and then I was like nope. Maternity leave 😄 everybody was happy 💛
Oh yeh I kept thinking the worst too! My job is slightly different as I'm a nanny so work for a family... I ended up texting them on a Sunday night and honestly they are so happy for me and being really supportive 😊 We still need to have a talk about maternity etc. but hopefully everything will work out all ok! Depending where you work, I'd definitely tell maybe HR or your manager so they can make any adjustments you might need. Im sure they'll all be happy for you ☺️
