Smoking and breastfeeding

So I recently had my baby (June 12th) and i stopped smoking about a few weeks before I found out I was pregnant. I didn’t smoke my whole pregnancy but now I’m breastfeeding and know that the weed will be in my milk. So do I have to pump and dump and how long will the weed be in my system so that my baby can drink my breast milk ?

You do not have to pump and dump unless you’re smoking blunts, even then I would pump and save the milk. Nicotine from the tobacco wrap would be in your milk. But breast milk has natural cannabinoids in it. So I wouldn’t worry about the THC transfer. I would slowly reintroduce weed back into your system for safety reasons though since you will be taking care of a newborn. Just make sure you do not fall asleep with her anywhere, especially the couch. Have another sober adult with you. But other than that it’s low risk imo, I have been lightly smoking and taking edibles since I gave birth and I have a chunky, healthy baby
