The reason bed sharing is generally unsafe is baby getting squished/trapped and not being able to breathe. Adding a large item of which baby’s face could get trapped in probably isn’t the best idea.
No- it’s dangerous to do this. No pillows or heavy blankets or any sheet above the waist line. Hair tied up, no cords, no partner or pets in bed, no alcohol or drugs, and exclusively breastfeeding.
Yes the pillow will be fine - i understand the concept you are trying to convey. I've done this. Pregnancy pillow will keep baby safe from you rolling over on them etc. just make sure baby is directly in the middle of the pillow and not near the side so that if they turn on their side their face isn't touching the pillow, as long as your use caution you should be fine.
Not sure why people are even in this group called "cosleeping and bed sharing" if they are going to make you feel bad for trying to do so. Shoot I bed share with my 1 month old every night but I make sure she is not close to me, by the grace of God it works out for us every night and she loves being close to mommy. 💕
Safe sleep 7 - no pillows, no blankets, no intoxicants, no smoking, firm mattress, breastfeeding, baby full term, no gaps, C-curl!
You can, if arranged correctly but it isnt recommended. However, if you have your head on one section, with the curve around your back and through your legs rather than the curve where rhe baby could be, it works OK
I'm using one but my baby is 18 months
@Courtney she asked for info on SAFE sleep and it was given. Obviously she cares about making things safe, that’s why she asked. We don’t need to lie to protect her feelings. I’d rather someone take the advice that this is not safe and potentially save their baby and if yall wanna cry mom shaming I really don’t give a shit. That’s what this group is for, helping mom’s sleep with their babies safely. Not an echo chamber to just tell moms that everything they’re doing is fine and dandy and ignore safety.
@Casey Girl nobody is reading that whole paragraph. I said what I said.
@Courtney because you can do it safely. Which means nothing extra in the bed
i did it with my first and second
