Itchy skin

I am 13 weeks pregnant this Friday and the past 3 to 4 weeks. I have had an incredibly itchy torso breast head arms, sometimes legs. I can’t seem to calm down with anything possible I’ve used E45 cream. I’ve used Dr. organic I’ve used summer Fridays,I have applied oat milk coconut butter, Palmer oil and cream. Nothing seem to work. I don’t have any rashes. It’s just itchy and it gets worse at night so I wake up and I can’t stop scratching myself and I can’t sleep. Is anyone else familiar with this cos whatever I read on google It says that is normal during pregnancy but nothing helps to stop it.

I had this from 20 weeks right up u till I gave birth literally tried everything to give me some relief unfortunately I didn't find anything. Make sure you mention it to your midwife though x

Yes, I have messaged her yesterday. I’m waiting for her answer. I’m just worried because online there are a lot of things saying about Choleostasis or something like that apparently your liver leaks bile into your blood stream and makes you itchy and you need extra blood tests to determine that in order to get medication prescribed from your doctor, but I’m not sure what’s going on. It is unbearable though how did you manage? When another thing that has been happening is I see like eczema around my areola on both breasts. I’m seeing a dermatologist today after three visits with a GP with no results.

I had this it was horrendous! It got worse at about 30 weeks for me so I had to keep getting regular blood tests to check bile acid levels (they were elevated but not high enough to be a concern). I took a daily antihistamine and was given a menthol moisturiser to use, think it was called DermaCool. It didn’t help much sadly!

I understand yes it’s so terrible it’s the only thing I’ve can’t stand.

I had this in my third trimester, it was liver cholostasis! I had to be monitored and have blood tests weekly as it’s your liver not producing bile properly and your bile levels in your body increasing can affect baby. It might not be what you have though but this is just my experience. I had to be induced because they didn’t want me to go overdue as my bile levels went quite high. But the itchiness was unbearable especially on my feet and hands!

@Katrina I had the antihistamine and that same menthol cream which both were rubbish!
