First time mum to be and nervous

I'm a first time mum to be and I keep getting panic attacks about child birth. I know baby has to come out one way or another, but I'm sooooo anxious for birth and beyond. Does anyone else feel like this and any advise would be deeply appreciated?

I’d recommend a hypnobirthing course. Knowledge is power! The more you fear birth the worse it becomes, you need to learn to lean into it and relax. I promise all you care about in the moment is that your baby arrives safely x

Just remind yourself that your body was made to grow and birth a baby. So many women before you have done it and so will you!

Thank you ladies! I need to learn to relax and embrace every moment, and try to remind myself I'm not the first woman to have a baby and learn I'm going to be in the best hands! Just when your mind plays games with you, it's hard to remember all the positives

I feel you! Check out the positive birth company, I’ve just bought one of their books as giving birth has always been something I’ve been really scared of and I’m determined to change my mindset! I also just keep thinking that so many women go through it, multiple times too. I understand everyone has different experiences, but try and fill your mind with positive stories :) good luck! It’s hard to navigate so be easy on yourself x

Ooo thank you so much for the recommendation! Yeah, I'm determined to change mine too, but it's easier said than done sometimes. Yep, I keep telling myself that as well, women are made to do this! Thank you so much, you too xx

@Dezi we also got some useful info from our midwife in our booklet that they fill in at every appointment, you might have the same? There is a QR code and a little course you can do and they cover mindset too! Here if you wanna chat at all about it, it’s a lot to get your head around!

Hypnobirthing 100%. I was terrible with my first lost control and panicked through the whole thing. Second time round after hypnobirthing I learnt breath work (which is everything !!! Just focusing on breathing I can’t explain how much it helps) and I was so much more in control and actually enjoyed it !! X

@Jessica yep, my midwife advised me on the same thing! Need to look into the QR codes and have a browse on them. Thank you so much xx

@Bella a lot of people have recommended me hypnobirthing, really should give it a go! Aw bless you! Ohhh amazing, thank you for the advise xx
