Dental question please help!

So I went to the dentist yesterday to get 2 crowns cemented on. When I asked why they felt funny she said it’s normal. I ran to the bathroom to take a look and wtf do I see, half exposed teeth. I have no idea why she would even think this is acceptable. When I asked for them to be re-done the hygienist says they cannot because of insurance. I know she is lying and I’m scared they won’t fix it. They scheduled me for another week out to take a look. I have medi-cal / denti-cal if that makes a difference. In my experience last year with another crown, different dentist they didn’t like the crown and sent it back to the lab and got a new one.
