Employer doesn’t get ‘military life’
Just looking for a bit of advice or support!
My employer knows my situation with my husbands military job but does anyone else feel like their employer just does not get the military life.
I’ve been struggling a bit at work because of an upcoming move/sorting childcare etc and I just don’t feel like it is understood.
Just feel a bit deflated!
You’re not alone. I’ve had similar issues with my current employer especially since I had a change in management a year ago. Not sure where you’re based but I ended up speaking with an employment advice team at italk (think it’s now called NHS talking therapies) they provided me with forms to send to HR and my managers relating to stress and their duties as employers, explained what my employer can and cannot ask me about childcare. Would you be able to speak with HR or an employment advice team near you? They might even be able to attend a meeting with you and your employer so you have support xx
